Venezuelan Ambassador Calls on Foreign Minister Sinckler

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and International Business, the Hon. Christopher Sinckler and Venezuela's Ambassador to Barbados, H.E. Juan Carlos Valdez Gonzalez

Exploring new ways in which Barbados and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela could strengthen their relationship was the focus of talks on Monday, February 4, when that country’s Ambassador, H.E. Juan Carlos Valdez Gonzalez, paid a visit on Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, and International Business, Christopher Sinckler.

          A range of matters of mutual interest were discussed when Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and International Business, Christopher Sinckler, and Minister of State in that Ministry, Donville Inniss, met with Brazilian Ambassador, Orlando Galveas Oliveira during a recent courtesy call.

US Ambassador meets Foreign Affairs Minister

The newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and International Business, the Hon. Christopher Sinckler (left) and the Minister of State in that Ministry the Hon. Donville Inniss continued their round of meeting with the resident diplomatic corps when they received the Ambassador of the United States of America, Mary Ourisman, at the Ministry’s Culloden Road Office on Friday, February 1. The two countries pledge to continue their harmonious relationship and close cooperation.

Newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade & International Business, the Hon. Christopher Sinckler received his first official visit as Minister when Canada’s Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs & International Trade (Sport) Helena Guergis called on him at the Ministry’s Culloden Road offices.  Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade & International Business, the Hon. Donville Inniss, and the Canadian High Commissioner to Barbados, H.E. I. David Marshall were also present.

Barbados Signs Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty

The Barbados Government has signed and ratified the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT) which could be beneficial to the country’s national emergency management programme inter alia through access to weather and disaster monitoring data in respect of Barbados and the Caribbean region in general, as well as access to technology and data that could help avert or assist in resolving man-made disasters such as plane crashes.
