 Barbados and UWI advance cooperation with China in education

Cooperation in the area of education between Barbados and China is moving ahead as a delegation from the University of the West Indies Cave Hill campus visits Beijing this week for a series of meetings and activities.

Led by Pro Vice-chancellor and Principal of the Cave Hill campus, Professor V.Eudine Barriteau, the delegation is meeting with its Chinese partner university, the China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL), other representatives of the education sector in China with a view to developing new opportunities for student, academic and cultural exchanges.

Of special note is the presence in the UWI delegation of four Cave Hill law students who are participating in the second edition of the Caribbean-China International Law Moot Competition which is taking place from 11 to 15 June, 2018 at the CUPL. The first edition was held at Cave Hill in 2017 and it is expected that the third edition, in which students from China will travel to Barbados, will be hosted again at the Cave Hill campus of UWI in 2019.
