SHORT- STAY VISA - FREE TRAVEL BETWEEN THE EU MEMBER STATES AND BARBADOS

As from May 28, 2009, the citizens of the European Union may enter and stay without a visa in the territory of Barbados for a period of stay not exceeding three months.

 

As from May 28, 2009, the citizens of Barbados may also enter and stay without a visa in the territory of the EU Member States for a period of stay not exceeding three months.

BARBADOS TO ISSUE MACHINE READABLE PASSPORTS IN OVERSEAS MISSIONS

 
The Immigration Department and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will shortly embark on a programme which will see the Government of Barbados extending the issue of the new format Barbados machine readable passports to nationals of Barbados who apply at Barbados’ Embassies and Consulates overseas.

Mr. President,
 
I extend Barbados’ gratitude to you for your tireless efforts in convening this Conference. Barbados also wishes to congratulate your facilitators, the distinguished Permanent Representatives of the Netherlands and of St. Vincent and the Grenadines for their excellent work.
 
Today, as we consider how best to address the most serious economic and financial crisis in our lifetime, let us be of strong resolve and clear foresight to ensure that we bequeath to future generations the foundations for lasting prosperity and security

Today, we were all actors in and witnesses of a pivotal piece of hemispheric history. The rescinding of Resolution 6/62 of 1962 and the charting of a path for future relations between Cuba and our organisation mark a decisive moment for us all.
