 Mr. Colin Seifert Mayers gained his secondary education at the Lodge School in Barbados. He then studied aeronautics at the Academy of Aeronautics in Flushing, New York and subsequently at the Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida where he acquired his commercial pilot’s licence in 1970. Mr. Mayers also worked as a pilot for Carib West Airlines (1971 -1981); General Manager of Caribbean Air Cargo’s North American Operations (1981-1992); Vice President of Caribbean Motor Works (1995-1999) and a Marketing Consultant (1999 – 2008).

 Mr. Mayers first as served as Consul General at the Consulate General of Barbados in Miami, Florida from May 1994 to December 1994. Following the outcome of General Elections in Barbados on January 15, 2008, he was again appointed Consul General in Miami from July 01, 2008.
 
With the recently expanded coverage area of the Consulate, Mr. Mayers’ jurisdiction now includes the states of: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas. His primary responsibilities include: maintaining a relationship with and representing the interest of Barbadian nationals, seeking out economic and business opportunities, promoting co-operative ventures with private and public sector agencies, establishing and nurturing relationships that are beneficial to Barbados.
 
Mr. Mayers is a member of Negro Airmen International. He and his wife Elicia (nee Irish) are the parents of two daughters, Miss Jeannine Mayers and Mrs. Sonja Mayers-Darby.
