Ambassador Abed Presents Letter of Credence To Minister Of Foreign Affairs Of The State Of Kuwait

Barbados and the State of Kuwait have taken another step towards the strengthen of the relationship between the two countries.

On 1 June 2023, Barbados’ Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, His Excellency Gabriel Abed, presented his Letters of Credence to His Excellency Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait during an official ceremony held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Kuwait City.

Following the presentation, the two officials exchanged of views on ways that could serve to foment the relationship including a visa waiver agreement, an air services agreement, job opportunities and access to capital for economic development. 

During the meeting, the Kuwait Foreign Minister recalled when he represented his nation for over 15 years as a non-resident Ambassador to a CARICOM Member State.  Ambassador Abed also expressed his keenness in playing an important role in furthering the relations between the two countries.

Ambassador Abed who is based in Abu Dhabi, will serve as non-resident Ambassador to the State of Kuwait. Barbados and the State of Kuwait established diplomatic relations on 22 August 1995. (MFAFT)
