Barbados Celebrates With The Bahamas At Independence Event

On 10 July 2023, the Honourable William Duguid, Senior Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office with responsibility for coordinating infrastructural projects, joined other regional ministers, ambassadors and special invited guests in the Bahamas to celebrate the country’s 50th anniversary of independence.

This year holds special significance for both Barbados and the Bahamas as the two countries also commemorate 50 years of diplomatic relations.

The theme for the Bahamas golden jubilee celebration “Honoring Our Heritage, Embracing Our Future” was chosen to reflect the nation’s commitment to acknowledging its rich cultural heritage while looking forward to a prosperous and inclusive future. (END)
