On this significant occasion, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Barbados extends hearty congratulations to the Government and people of the Republic of India on the celebration of the country’s 75th Anniversary of Independence.
Our strategic partnership touches everything from climate to health to our vibrant people-to-people ties. The Ministry is confident that, as two maturing democracies, our partnership will continue to contribute to the security and prosperity of our people and the global good.
Today’s independence celebration also presents the opportunity for all Barbadians to recognise the significant contributions of the Indian community to shaping our country’s history. The Indo-Barbadian community’s excellence in entrepreneurial activities, the arts, healthcare, culture, sports, music, and other endeavours has been an outstanding example.
This year is also especially meaningful for our two nations as we continue to celebrate 55 years of diplomatic relations. Indeed, India and Barbados are indispensable partners, and our relationship is grounded in our shared commitment to the rule of law and the promotion of human freedom and dignity.
