Human Resource and Administration Division

The Human Resources and Administration Division (HRAD) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade (MFAFT) is responsible for managing the Human Resources and Administration for Headquarters and Barbados’ Overseas Missions to ensure the effective delivery of Barbados’ foreign policy mandates.

The Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry has direct oversight for the functioning of the Division. Its everyday work comprises management of staff records, human resource management and development, matters pertaining to conditions of service, preparing officers for overseas postings to foreign missions, recruitment and on-boarding of new staff.

The HRAD also supports the Authorised Representatives in overseas Missions in managing logistics, and maintaining chanceries and diplomatic residences. This includes disaster preparedness, protecting and maintaining plant and equipment and generally, enhancing operational capacity.
