PRIDE OF BARBADOS – awarded to a person who is a citizen of Barbados or is entitled to be registered as a citizen of Barbados; or is a permanent resident of Barbados and through sacrifice, diligence and dedication to service has made an outstanding contribution to community life in a parish in Barbados or to the improvement of economic and social conditions in a parish in Barbados.

Mr. Doe has rendered outstanding service to [insert Parish] as a community leader. He tutored at the local primary school/community centre [indicate name of school or community centre] three evenings in the week and spearheaded the Breakfast programme at [name of school/community centre] which provided breakfast for less fortunate students.
In addition, his philanthropy has resulted in the engagement of the services of two music teachers to provide piano lessons every Saturday morning, free of charge, to children living in the parish. He actively volunteers with two Primary and Secondary schools’ Old Scholars Committees in the parish and has worked tirelessly to provide annual grants of $1000.00 scholarship to one student from each school. In addition, he has aided in providing students with school supplies where needed.
Mr. Doe because of his philanthropy and sterling contribution to community life and support for young people in his parish is recommended for the award of
Pride of Barbados.
